Fans of Southeastern Conference football will recognize this weekend as the Third Saturday in October, which typically means the annual meeting of the Tennessee Volunteers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. While the rivalry has been one-sided for Alabama for more than a decade, Big Orange fans hope for a major upset and an end to the Tide's lengthy streak in the series. In this week's edition of Armchair QBs, DTC Chief Executive Officer Chris Townson will stop by to talk about the rivalry. Townson, who came to DTC from Rainsville, Alabama, is a life-long, avid Crimson Tide fan. He will talk about his history as a Tide fan, offer up his insight on the Alabama program and what he sees from the current state of Tennessee football, and even discuss why a particular Alabama assistant coach would make a good head coach for any of the SEC teams that will be looking at season's end.
In addition, Tom and Coach Vance will review Week 9's area games with scores, stats and highlights, plus preview several huge area games coming up in Week 10, including Friday night's clash between the Watertown Purple Tigers and the Smith County Owls, which will be featured on this week's edition of Football Game Night!
Join hosts Tom Duggin and the Coach, Chris Vance, each week for Armchair QBs, airing each Thursday and Friday at 6:00 p.m. during the high school football regular season on DTC3 and DTC3 HD (channel 303), available exclusively on the DTC TV service.
