High School Graduations to air on DTC3

The 2016 school year has come to a close across our region, and DTC3 was on hand to film four area high school graduations in recent days. Those graduations will air several times in the coming days on both DTC3 and DTC3 HD (channel 303).

The DeKalb County High School graduation was filmed on Thursday, May 19, in Smithville. It will air on DTC3 on the following dates:

Wednesday, June 1 - 1 p.m.
Thursday, June 2 - 8 p.m.
Saturday, June 4 - 8 p.m.
Monday, June 6 - 1 p.m.
Wednesday, June 8 - 8 p.m.
Thursday, June 9 - 1 p.m.

DTC3 to air DeKalb County Churches 1800-2016

On Saturday, April 16, the DeKalb Animal Coalition presented a program titled DeKalb County Churches 1800-2016 to serve as a fundraiser for the coalition to build a new animal shelter for the community. DeKalb County historian, Thomas G. Webb, spoke on the churches in the county, both past and present.

Among the topics discussed, included the following:

- The first churches in DeKalb County

- The difference in doctrine

- Camp meetings and where they were held

- The shouting Methodists and the Footwashing Baptists

- Churches that have died out

2016 Eastside Egg Drop coming to DTC3

The 2016 Eastside Elementary School Egg Drop was held on Tuesday afternoon, May 17, and DTC3 was on hand for all the festivities!

Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in Mrs. Abby Underwood's Science Class at the school constructed a "Lunar Lander" and attempted to protect their "astronaut" (the egg) from a 40-foot drop from a DTC bucket truck. How did they fare? Find out by watching the Eastside Egg Drop on DTC3!!

2016 Woodland Egg Drop to air on DTC3

DTC3 was at Woodland Elementary School on Friday morning, May 13, to film the annual Woodland Egg Drop, and the program will air in the coming days on DTC3.

Eighth grade students at the school demonstrated Newton's Laws of Motion, as they attempted to protect an egg from a 40-foot drop from a DTC bucket truck. The students used their creativity to develop a container that would protect the egg from such a fall. How did they fare? Find out by watching the Egg Drop!!
